From the writings of the Rev. Billy Graham

pricey Rev. Graham: there are so many voices clamoring for dominance notably among the many more youthful generations. How do we distinguish between a cult and genuine faith, and even the deception of promising things that received't necessarily come authentic? — C.D.

dear C.D.: there are lots of agencies vying for listening ears, and there are lots of anxious to listen. here's nothing new. When there have been simplest two beings on earth, having heard without delay from God, they chose, as a substitute, to take heed to satan's misleading voice. We ought to remember that a deceptive voice will at all times name God into question. here is the age-historical story of Adam and Eve.

There are at the least three questions to ask. One: Is Christ worshiped as Lord and Savior? Some cults disregard Christ fully or suggest that He become simplest an excellent instructor. Some declare salvation is not to be present in Christ. Many deny that He rose from the grave. The Bible says that salvation is found in no one else (Acts 4:12, 1 Peter three:18).

Two: Is the Bible (God's observe) significant as the one proper guide to faith and practice? Cults and false religions commonly ignore or even deny the full notion and authority of the Bible as the observe of God. They regularly add or substitute a group of artifical teachings (doctrine) not found in Scripture. We should even be cautious of translations of Scripture which twist the which means of the Bible's clear teaching.

Three: Is involvement with other believers headquartered in a Bible-believing church the place Jesus Christ is worshiped and obeyed? while the church isn't ideal, it is critical to belong to a church whose groundwork is God's notice.

final, ask God to aid you decipher between truth and lies. Jesus is the actuality (John 14:6). God will at all times lead americans to His reality.
